Facebook

Has Facebook lost its edge? What do you think? What evidence do you see that the site is still going strong - or that its popularity is fading? Where do you spend most of your social media time?

To some people Facebook has lost its edge because they are probably drained out of Facebook and others are still using Facebook everyday. I think that Facebook is still growing at the same rate as it started to become popular. People are still posting and making more accounts. Also with more countries getting better internet, people are making accounts in other countries and making friends in other countries over Facebook. People are showing what fun they are having or people comfort others over online. I spend an hour or two on Facebook and many other hours on YouTube. I look at what people are posting and share some of those posts on Facebook. On YouTube I look at funny videos and gaming videos which take up a lot of my time.

Technology scocializing

Technology is supposed to make us more connected. We can stay in touch with our friends all the time on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, and, of course, by texting. But are our smartphones actually getting in the way of real socializing? Could technology be making us more alone?

With the technology we have, you are able to talk to someone from another country and stay in your bedroom. Technology can help us keep in contact with each other, but it is also causing people to focus on their phones rather than someone. If someone text to people so much on their phones or on social media they can loose some social skills that are required in life. So yes technology can make us more alone by talking over the internet rather than talking to a person face to face. If you get consumed with talking over the phone rather than face to face, you loose that experience you can get from talking face to face.

Parents

How are you and your parents alike and different? There is an old adage: “The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.” It suggests that children are alot like their parents or that they eventually end up with values and goals similar to their parents. Do you agree? Why or why not?

I agree with that adage. I am very much like my parents. I took some traits from my mom and dad. At an early age, children are very adaptable to whats around them. I believe that every child will be like their parents because they are adaptable. You grow up with your parents, so you might adopted some of their personality, kindness, habits, or even emotional stability. With being alike to your parents, children are different also. Children will also take in what environment they live in. They will take traits from the environment, other people, what they watch, friends, or what they see. The environment can make a person nice if it is a nice and calm environment, but if a child grows up in a harsh and dangerous environment, they can become violent or be scared to go anywhere. So if you hear that adage again, it most likely is true that you do not fall too far from the tree.
